The Lee Rowing Club was founded in 1850, it holds the distinction of being the oldest rowing club in Ireland. This gives it a prestigious place in Irish sporting history.
Our clubhouse is prominently located on the Marina in Cork City, right alongside the River Lee, which is, of course, where the rowing takes place. The Marina itself is a popular spot for walking and recreation.
The club is very active and caters to a wide range of members, from juniors (school-age) right up to senior and veteran/masters categories.
Lee RC has a strong tradition in competitive rowing, regularly competing and achieving success at regional, national (Irish Rowing Championships), and sometimes even international events. They have produced many talented oarsmen and oarswomen over the decades.
Like many long-established sports clubs, it serves as a significant community hub, fostering teamwork, discipline, and fitness for generations of Cork people. It's an integral part of Cork's sporting fabric.
