Lee Rowing Club is one of the oldest and most distinguished rowing clubs in the country having been established in 1850. Lee Rowing Club is a mixed club and is proud of it's tradition of being one of the first clubs in the country to allow female members. Rowing is an enthralling sport enjoyed by people of all ages. Nothing keeps you coming back like the feeling of a boat slicing smoothly through the waters of the Lee. Rowing is a great way to get fit, meet new people and see the country. So why not give it a try? New State of the Art Slipway for LEE Rowing Club. The slipway has separated from the quay wall and has become dangerous. After 3-4 years of hard work a new slipway for all at Lee R.C. has been secured. The slip committee spent many days and nights working on trying to get the funding in place. It is proposed to replace it with a pontoon similar to the one recently installed in Custom House Docks. City Council agreed to meet the cost which will be in the region of €170,000 including consulting fees. It is planned to have the new pontoon in place by the end of August.
